The Iceman, Glasses and a Cup of Hangover

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

Well, my girlfriend has had a severely happy weekend. Her favorite athlete in the world, Chuck Liddell won his UFC fight. This is after coming off of a 3 loss streak. We had a few people over. It was fun to see her let loose and have a good time. We both drank a bit more than we should have but we had a great time.

Today, we went out and got her some new glasses. They are Versace glasses that look pretty similar to mine. You can check out some similar looking pairs here

The fact that they cost so much bothered me at first. But, they were really nice and the woman who helped us offered assistance in the form of a coupon. By the time everything was said and done, she went home a happy woman. Of course, when you ask her about the combination of plastic and glass that now adorn her face she just says:

“It’s the nicest thing I own.”

At least she can show it off all the time.

Chinese Food & Children Battling - Who Could Ask For More?

The clothes that hang comfortably over her skin do little justice to the amount of beauty that exists in her face and in her head. She is working hard on completing a speech that is incredibly important to her on so many levels. It is these times that I find her so incredibly lovely. Lost in her world, doing what she enjoys most. Seeing the smile on her face. It’s really quite rewarding. I understand that you can’t possibly know this, but that is okay.

After work she met up with me in our car. I offered Chinese food and surprised her. I like that she loves Chinese food. We got our first movies from Netflix. This was one of the presents that I received for Christmas this year. The first movies that we got are two that I, personally, have been wanting to see for a long time. Tonight we watched the movie that I have been hunting for ever since I heard about about it: Batoru rowaiaru (Battle Royale). I knew it wouldn’t quite be up her creek, but she still staid afloat and watched it all the way through with me. The second movie we got was The Namesake. It is supposed to be a romance-type-thing that she probably will not enjoy as much as I.

That is okay. Relationships are about a constant give and take. She asked today if I would mind moving some of her choices from my our Netflix queue. See? There I go again. I have to keep remembering that everything that I have, she has. By doing so, it allows us to grow together. Rather than one person passing the other by. It is something that I have had difficulties with in other relationships.

This one seems to be different.
