		<description>You're absolutely right.  It's not going to be pretty as the U.S. falls from dominance, but spending political capital is always expensive, and over-spending it is downright destructive.  Just look at the USD/EUR exchange rates over the last decade.  It's instructive.

I am reminded of Paul Simon's "American Tune."  In that case, he was ahead of his time, forecasting our country's downfall in 1973, but what have we done to heed his warning?</description>
