The Spirit of Janis Joplin Joins Us for Her 65th Birthday
My girlfriend, Bonnie, is a huge Janis Joplin fan. As such, we celebrate her birthday, January 19th, every year. We were joined by a few friends at a new bar in Missoula called James Bar. It’s a new place with an interesting atmosphere. If you haven’t been there before, it’s next to Al and Vic’s place around here:
Although it isn’t the greatest bar in the world from my experience, they have a huge picture of Janis Joplin up on the wall of the bar so it was a suitable place for celebrating Janis Joplins birthday. However, an unexpected visitor became visible when taking a picture of my girlfriend and a couple of her friends in front of the picture on the wall. Here’s the part of the image with Janis:
However, an image was caught that did not exist on any other shots that were taken in front of Janis that night. Although some might attribute it to a lens flare or a piece of dust, I think that the humanistic, feminine qualities of the image are indicative of the spirit of Janis helping us celebrate her 65th birthday:
Keep in mind, this is untouched. There was no gloss over the photo of her on the wall. We also took a second photo right afterwards in which the image did not appear.
I guess its up to you decide.
Happy birthday Janis Joplin. Happy birthday.

Yes, I am assuming you are referring to this. That’s why I provided a close-up of the image so that you could see how much it resembled a face.
Although there may be an explanation for why the phenomenon occurred, it still doesn’t explain why it resembles a woman’s face.
Besides, wouldn’t it be better if, perhaps, the spirit of Janis was there instead of it being a photographic error? It would go along so well with the spirit of her birthday and all.

I believe Janis Joplin was there ‘in spirit’, and you captured it on film! You were in a bar, and Janis loved booze. I was at the Landmark Hotel in Hollywood (now renamed Highland Gardens) this past October 4, 2008, the anniversary of her death, and I definitely ‘felt’ her presence in front of the door of room #105. I didn’t capture anything on film however.
